The validity period of SSL certificates changes. The certification authorities reduce its lifetime to a maximum of 12 months. The most important reason is that shorter lifetime and more frequent certificate issuance increase the level of security. About this plan was first announced by Apple in February, followed by Google in June and Mozilla in July.
More attention needs to be paid to the expiry date, as the validity of certificates will be halved, but this will give much more attention to security. Site owners will have to worry less about technological changes, as more frequent renewals will keep certificates up to date.
Certificates currently valid for two years and issued before September 1 are still valid, but those who redeem an SSL certificate will only have a validity period of 1 year.
